Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor to join our Emergency Medicine Team which is fixed term for 6 months. The post is available at the new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and aimed at doctors who have completed at least four years full-time postgraduate relevant experience (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty (e.g. emergency medicine) or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies (suitable for ST3 and above applications).
The post will afford the successful applicant the opportunity to gain wide experience in Emergency Medicine and develop procedural skills, while enjoying protected development time. We are a friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic team, and are aiming to recruit like-minded individuals.
The successful candidate will be contracted for 40 hours per week. Clinical work will be based in our Emergency Department.
The Ideal Candidate
* MBChB or equivalent qualification.
* MRCEM.
* Full General Medical Council Registration and Licence to Practise.
* Appropriate practical skills for emergency medicine work.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral ability to work well within a team, both leadership & followership skills.
* Demonstrable organisational and time management skills.
Appointment will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service of Hospital Medical and Dental Staff and Doctors and Dentists in Public Health Medicine and the Community Health Service (Scotland).
