Job Description
The Asset Lead Linear will sit within the asset investment team reporting to the Asset Investment Manager. This role will work closely with the rest of the Connect Plus Team, Connect Plus Services (the O&M Company) and other key project stakeholders, to oversee all asset management activities for highways linear assets (i.e., pavement, geotechnical, drainage, road restraint systems).
From a client-side perspective, this role will own asset management strategies for linear assets in line with DBFOs handback and performance requirements, provide strategic guidance and support to the business enabling effective and consistent rollout & execution of asset management strategies, and continuously drive the asset management excellence to mature asset management approach.
Accountabilities
* Ownership of Asset Management Strategies for highways linear assets covering the whole lifecycle (inspection, maintenance, and renewal).
* Act as a Connect Plus sponsor in gateway meetings for lifecycle renewal projects for highways linear assets to ensure that projects deliver expected benefits within expected budget.
* Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the Commercial & Asset Delivery team to optimise and sign off scope and delivery methodologies and unblock technical issues.
* Drive innovation, efficiency, and carbon reduction throughout the gateway process; communicate and share best practices in the field of asset management.
* Support the development of the Asset Management Forward Plan, ensuring that proposed investment delivers benefits and meets strategic objectives and performance indicators.
* Support the development of the Annual Asset Management Report to capture the benefits achieved, lessons learned from the delivery, and expenditure movement against the budget.
* Understand Asset Management IT systems, particularly Asset Investment Planning Toolkits; ability to review and challenge the input, configuration, and modelling of Decision Support Tools.
* Collaborate with Connect Plus Services relevant teams to understand impacts of strategic changes, changes in standards, and third-party schemes on contract and asset performance.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with an engineering background or similar, with experience in managing large scale and complex infrastructure assets (ideally, highways linear assets) from a client perspective.
* Chartered Engineer (ICE or equivalent) or relevant accreditation.
* Ability to set, challenge, and refine Asset Management Strategies for Highways linear assets in line with handback requirements.
* Good communication and presentation skills.
* Proactivity and ability to operate autonomously in a senior team.
* Ability to multi-task and deliver multiple projects in parallel.
* IT literate; Knowledge of Asset Management IT systems would be a plus.
