What will I be doing?
Reporting to your regional Landfill Energy Operations Manager, the main purpose of the role is to:
* Support the day-to-day operations of open and closed landfills within your regional landfill energy cluster (medium sized geographical area).
* Supervise day-to-day landfill energy operations, restoration projects, gas management and generation, and also leachate treatment plants (LTP’s).
* Focus on the achievement of specified KPI’s, which is essential in driving efficiency in line with the facilities operational and provisions budget.
What are the requirements?
Ideally, you would:
* Have knowledge of landfill site operations and aftercare.
* Have experience and/or knowledge of working within and maintaining aspects of site control infrastructure within a landfill site e.g., landfill gas engines/controls, leachate treatment plants, large numbers of extraction pipework, pumps for gas, leachate, and water.
* Be able to manage contractors and tenants.
* Have relevant health and safety qualification(s), IOSH desirable.
* Have previous experience in supervising mobile plant or using appropriate equipment.
* Be able to supervise contractors delivering restoration materials.
* Be able to supervise landfill energy technical maintenance contractors and suppliers.
* Have experience of managing aftercare activities and long-term management of land.
* Have the ability to accurately identify and act upon routine daily maintenance of all landfill control equipment.
* Respond to out-of-hours emergencies and be included on an emergency call-out rota.
* Have a track record of delivering against financial targets and KPIs and experience in financial planning, budgeting, and capital improvement.
* Understand the need to operate in a compliant manner.
* Appropriate additional training can and will be provided for the suitable candidate, to ensure that the post holder is fully competent to manage the above.
