Job summary The Administration Officer will support the Clinical Practice Educator Team with clerical and administrative tasks as required. The post holder will also be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload using experience and initiative, and act as communication link for the Clinical Practice Educator Team. This will involve the post holder being able to communicate with various services and agencies, internal and external and with personnel at all levels. The post holder will need to use Microsoft Office Software packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to undertake the duties of the role. The Administration Officer will assist the Clinical Practice Educator Team with the training of new staff and less experienced staff in the use of electronic office systems, administrative practices and participate in departmental induction. The post holder will be expected to use their experience and judgement to determine appropriate action to be taken as a result of being the communication link for the team and ensure that the team are informed of issues in a timely manner. Main duties of the job The post holder will: Require excellent verbal communication skills, responding to queries/enquires face to face as well as dealing with telephone queries. At times the information may be of a sensitive nature and the ability to deal with emotional/distressed patients/visitors, learners and nurses is essential. May deal with enquiries/queries where there are barriers to understanding, therefore tact and diplomacy will be required. Communicate by written and electronic means with other staff members across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) and external agencies, ensuring adherence to confidentiality and data protection at all times. Play a supportive role within the running of the Clinical Practice Educator Team. Use own initiative to problem solve issues which are not straightforward and have a choice of options, dealing with enquires e.g. from practice nurses and HealthCare Support Workers regarding education training days, advanced practice education.
