Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Educator within our Theatres team. The role will require the post holder to work with all nursing staff and operating department practitioners, registered and non-registered, working across a wider area in the theatre and PACU environment; external partners and networks with a lead focus on clinical development of theatre nursing practice including key skills for both registered and unregistered staff.The post holder will be required to plan and organise the training equipment and book training dates and venues as appropriate in collaboration with colleagues within the wider teams. Main duties of the job To develop and deliver core and additional clinical skills and training programmes across all Theatre and PACU Care Group Surgery settings, demonstrating a sound teaching approach utilising mixed media, simulation, and creating a positive learning environment that supports the training needs of the service and organisation. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to deliver effective teaching and can undertake assessment of knowledge and competence. The post holder will also be required to devise appropriate strategies to enable and ensure a positive and safe learning environment and experience. Collect, evaluate, and analyse data, and make judgements on the clinical implications of the evidence and writing relevant reports and presentations to initiate change and service improvement. To support investigations following an adverse incident, challenging appropriately when required, and input into the follow-up work, clinical supervision/mentoring or organisational change. To work across organisational and professional boundaries and develop multi professional clinically based teaching and assessment processes. Responsible and accountable for the key functions of clinical skills development, delivery and audit; designing and maintaining physical and virtual provision of clinical skills training; and supporting the wider clinical skills education agenda across the service and organisation. Develop learning packages and resources to support clinical skills acquisition.
