Role Responsibility Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) Supervisor Role – Adults – KR11 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent NQSW Supervisor covering the County of Kent. You will be supporting and assessing Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) to successfully complete the Kent County Council (KCC) Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme. This role is to ensure a consistent approach to the support being provided to NQSWs within KCC in terms of workload management, embedding the Adult Social Care and Health (ASCH) Practice Framework and development opportunities across the County to support recruitment and retention. This is a valuable opportunity to also work with the Practice Development Officers to implement operational practice change and provide high level support for other registered and non-registered staff in areas of complex work when required. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Community Team Seniors and ASYE Practice Educators to provide additional reflective supervision, guidance and support to NQSWs to complete their assessment, whilst working within KCC ASYE guidelines and to ensure the Record of Support and Progressive Assessment and Critical Learning log are completed. You will be a welcome addition to the team if you are passionate about social work practice and supporting the people of Kent to live as full and safe a life as possible. You will need to have extensive post-qualification experience, and be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and up to date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation and guidance. You will have a recognised social work qualification, current registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker and a qualification in Practice Education or be prepared to undertake this. The position will be based in Maidstone – Countywide Role. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
