Were working with policy teams to apply digital, user-centred thinking to big important problems like homelessness and job creation. As part of our work with policy and service teams, were helping those teams get the most out of software as a service (SaaS) options to make their processes more efficient, user-centred, secure and cost effective. We expect youll use your experience of administering SaaS products to help optimise and maximise their use within MHCLG. Youll manage relationships with and collate feedback from policy, digital, and data analysis teams, to ensure the tools available are meeting team needs. Youll be responsible for MHCLGs internal support and guidance to these teams, maximising their reuse and availability for the right problems and use cases across MHCLG. You will be responsible for establishing policies and standards for appropriate use of these products in MHCLG, and working with the right teams to ensure these are considerate of good practices including user experience, cybersecurity and cost. Job description There are two roles available: one permanent and one Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) covering 12 months of maternity leave. The candidate who scores highest on the merit list will have first choice between the permanent and FTA roles. Were looking for someone to lead the running and continuous improvement of some core SaaS products for MHCLG. These tools help teams and users across the Department to do a number of activities, including, but not limited to: run service desks using ticketing software for external and internal facing services provide whiteboarding options to visualise and map processes and services, and run co-design sessions and collaborative workshops with external and internal users communicate across different devices and organisations with ease produce low-fidelity prototypes for sharing internally and externally Person specification We will use the essential criteria below to evaluate you during the recruitment process. As a Live Services Manager, you will need: to document processes for consistency and knowledge sharing to be able to take complex language and questions and make them simple to understand to be willing to challenge assumptions and explain your decisions to stakeholders who are new to using products to be able to map processes, determine key pain points and ideate around practical improvements to be made to have familiarity with a service support structure that follows ITIL guidance to establish some key performance indicators for these products, and use this data and the right feedback loops to continuously improve their use to liaise with suppliers to support tools in use in the Department This post is aligned to the IT Service Manager job profile in the Government Digital Data and Technology Profession Framework, although it is not a pure Service Manager role. Things you need to know Selection process details MHCLG want to bring in a diverse workforce at all levels. Internal Fraud Database The Internal Fraud function of the Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants Function at the Cabinet Office processes details of civil servants who have been dismissed for committing internal fraud, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned.The Cabinet Office receives the details from participating government organisations of civil servants who have been dismissed, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned, for internal fraud. In instances such as this, civil servants are then banned for 5 years from further employment in the civil service. The Cabinet Office then processes this data and discloses a limited dataset back to MHCLG as a participating government organisations. MHCLG then carry out the pre employment checks so as to detect instances where known fraudsters are attempting to reapply for roles in the civil service. In this way, the policy is ensured and the repetition of internal fraud is prevented.
