Job Description
Our client, a successful manufacturing organization based in Hinckley, is seeking an experienced, motivated Accounts Assistant to join their Finance Team. The role involves managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, with responsibilities including preparing management accounts, reviewing stock and PPV, maintaining the Fixed Assets register, and supporting VAT and KPI reporting.
Responsibilities
1. Assist with monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet.
2. Review FOB stock, stock adjustments, and stock provisions.
3. Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets register.
4. Review and approve transactions covered by Letters of Credit.
5. Assist in quarterly VAT return preparation and submission.
6. Produce quarterly agents commission reports and develop Marketing Fund reporting.
7. Support SLT and management reporting, including daily and departmental KPIs.
8. Reconcile Invoice Finance and upload invoices.
9. Identify and implement process improvements.
10. Check bills of Exchange before settlement.
Accounts Payable Specifics
1. Post AP invoices, match with GRN, and liaise with merchandising team.
2. Review weekly payment runs and monitor payments on account.
3. Support AP process improvements, including supplier payment terms and moving towards paperless processes.
Candidate Requirements
1. AAT qualified, or Part Qualified in ACCA or CIMA.
2. High accuracy and attention to detail.
3. Experience in multi-currency Accounts Payable, preferably in manufacturing or stock environments.
4. Knowledge of GL, accruals, prepayments, and month-end processes.
5. Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and conditional formatting.
6. ERP system knowledge (Syspro preferred).
7. Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
8. Organized, with good time management and teamwork skills.
Package
Full-time, permanent role with a salary of £25k - £28k, depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00, with 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays, private pension, and parking. Awareness of Health & Safety policies is required.
