The Stores & Kitchen Assistant Role: Our Hospitality & Catering department is one of the UK's best culinary schools with excellent facilities including industrial kitchens and our renowned public restaurant. We run a range of courses from L1-L3. Working as part of the professional services team you will support our students in receiving high quality training to give them the skills to progress and succeed in the career of their choice. This is a physically demanding role; requiring lifting and storage of various goods and swift, agile movement required in the plate/pot wash area under pressures of service. Key Responsibilities: Receiving all delivered goods, store and organize the goods in line with Food Standard Agency (FSA) requirements. Delivering class food orders internally to kitchens and store correctly, ready for the chef tutors' classes. Collect Receive and re-store goods after classes, ensuring accurate stock rotations. Placing orders to external suppliers by telephone and using the online system. Preparing basic stocks for class use on occasion, subject to chef requests. Rotate and manage levels, to ensure readily available. Chill and store products made in practical classes Stock monitoring to ensure goods & consumables held are rotated, and to a level required. Regularly checking equipment and appliances are clean in on good working order. Previous catering experience essential About You: We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking educational leader who: Level 2/grade 3 in English and mathematics. Food Hygiene to L3 or willingness to work towards Experience of working within a commercial food establishment. Identifying & reporting maintenance issues. Knowledge and experience of stock control. A team player – hard working.
