Job Description Senior Process Design Engineer Wotton under Edge / Hybrid (3 days in office) up to £50,000 depending on experience Renishaw’s Encoder Products Division (EPD) designs and supplies cutting-edge position feedback technology to the world’s precision measurement, automation, and manufacturing industries. It is highly likely that something you own contains a part or device that was manufactured with the help of one of Renishaw’s encoder s. The division is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all working together to produce market leading products for sale around the world. We start with cutting edge optical, algorithm and circuit design s, developing our own ASICs and sensors where. We then use innovative mechanical engineering to turn our core technology into a range of desirable products for our broad customer base. Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing processes and software to deliver quality products by the hundreds of thousands that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub- micron accuracies for our customers. We are now looking to recruit a Senior Process Design Engineer to undertake electrical design for new and existing equipment in the New Products Integration (NPI) area. Responsibilities Design, development and assembly of bespoke electrical subsystems for production test and assembly process equipment. Create and modify electrical schematics, producing assembly drawings and BOMs for control panels and wiring looms, using appropriate CAD software where required. Design documentation and close collaboration with our Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure that equipment is safe. Guiding and approving the electrical design work and documentation of lesser experienced ream members. Liaising with other subject matter experts in the field of electrical engineering and machine design and helping to standardise on approaches and component selection. Key requirements Degree level education in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or a HNC/HND level education with significant experience in a related engineering field. Able to generate and check machine wiring diagrams. Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies. Working knowledge of CE marking requirements for electrical equipment Working knowledge machine design standards such as IEC 60204 Good PC skills and the ability to work with minimal support Desirable requirements Knowledge of simple PCB and electronics design Experience of using Zuken E3 CAD Benefits When you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career.
