Female Personal Care Assistant – Punjabi Speaking

Hours
23 hours per week, (worked between 2pm - 6pm). Up to 7 days per week.
There can be some flexibility with this, and this can be discussed further and agreed at interview.
Rate
£11.44 per hour for employed PA under PAYE
£13.92 per hour for self-employed PA’s (evidence of self-employment and Liability Insurance will be required)

About the employer
The employer is an independent, disabled lady living in her own home with her husband, seeking support with daily living tasks. The lady has some mobility issues and uses walking aids around the house and a wheelchair when out and about.
A personal assistant is sought to support her continued independent life assisting with daily household duties and routine.
Main Duties
• General housekeeping duties including light overall cleaning, dusting, vacuuming etc.
• Laundry – including hanging out, ironing, putting away and changing the bedsheets when requested.
• Regular grocery shopping.
• Cooking – Preparing light meals and snacks for lunch, and preparation of a main evening meal prior to leaving for the day.
• Washing up, cleaning and tidying the kitchen after meal prep as necessary.
• Prompt with medication, ensure my medications has been taken.
• Occasionally, a small amount of assistant with personal hygiene may be required, so there is a requirement for a female candidate.
• Supporting with the attendance of occasional medical appointments. Mileage will be paid (excluding commute).
• Social time - support with transportation when out for shopping, coffee, etc. Mileage will be paid (excluding commute).
• Admin - support with paperwork, reading letters, emails, etc.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.
• A valid driving licence and own vehicle is required. Business cover essential.
• Language requirements – ability to communicate fluently in English and Punjabi is also essential.

The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.
A can-do attitude and aptitude to assist the employer.
Must be flexible, trustworthy and active with a good sense of humour.
Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Flu and Covid-19.
