Contek Recruitment are currently working exclusively with a specialist engineering company, located in Coventry, who due to growth are looking for a Manufacturing Design Engineer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.
COMPANY PROFILE: Our client are a family-owned business based in Coventry, UK. They specialise in providing surface finishing solutions. Our client manufacture a range of special purpose machinery, consumables, and offer a subcontract finishing service. Their products are supplied into a range of industries from Automotive, Aerospace, Medical and 3D Printing.
JOB ROLE: Manufacturing Design Engineer.
JOB TYPE: Permanent.
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday (08:00 until 16:30)
SALARY/PAY: £42k-45k per year (Dependent on experience)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
* Design of special purpose machinery and equipment using Solidworks (Surface Finishing Machinery, Deburring Machinery, Vibratory Bowls, Shot Blasting Machinery, Ultrasonic Cleaning Machinery).
* Liaising with customers and clients to identify requirements ready for design and manufacture.
* Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
* Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
* Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
* Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
* Planning and organising maintenance.
* Liaising with suppliers, customers and research and development staff.

* Experience within process improvement.
* Experience using Solidworks (or a similar design package).
* Comfortable working closely with customers and clients, with the ability to visit customer sites.
HOLIDAYS:
You will be entitled to 18 working days annual holiday per year, plus New Year’s Day (1st January), Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, Spring Bank Holiday, August Bank Holiday, and Christmas Shutdown. The holiday year runs from 1st January to 31st December. In the years of joining and leaving, holiday entitlement is calculated proportionately
