Teacher of Science - Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA
Salary: Pay Scale Within: £32,433 - £49,944
Come and take a key role in a friendly and collaborative department in a successful all age school in one of the most beautiful settings in Wales.
Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3-16 Church in Wales school that serves the historic city of St Davids and surrounding areas. Based in the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school is a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment where pupils and staff are proud of the Christian and community ethos. The school has strong links with the local community where there are extensive opportunities for outdoor pursuits and social and cultural activities.
The school is looking to appoint a forward-thinking and innovative practitioner who is passionate about the curriculum changes taking place currently within Wales and would like the opportunity to translate these ideas into practice. Science is a very strong feature of the school, with some of the best key stage 4 outcomes in the county and nationally. It is extremely popular amongst pupils, and this is regularly reflected in pupil voice surveys. The department currently delivers GCSE courses in separate sciences (biology, chemistry, physics), double award science and double applied science.
Applications are most welcome and encouraged from both primary and secondary trained teachers who are willing to teach all year groups in a 3-16 school including GCSE level Science (all specialisms will be considered). The successful candidate will be part of the Science and Technology Area of Learning team.
