Job overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking occupational therapist to join our established Orthopaedic Therapy Services Team based at Doncaster Hospital. This is an exciting post working alongside a Physiotherapy team lead and supporting the occupational therapy team manager. This post will provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and assistants.
Key responsibilities will include clinical management of complex orthopaedic discharges, whilst maintaining patient flow. Clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and assistants. The support, education and development of therapy staff and students and the wider multi-disciplinary team, lead audit, identify and lead research and quality improvement opportunities including service review and evaluation and be responsible for the coordination of operational management of the service.
You must have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate not only patients but staff. You must be organised, flexible and able to empower others.
Main duties of the job
As Team Lead you will drive the Orthopaedic Therapy Team to continue to provide therapy interventions over 7-days whilst delivering the Trust’s goals of reducing length of stay. You will use innovation and improvement to challenge practice and continue to provide efficient and effective services.
The Orthopaedic Therapy Team supports the full patient pathway including the facilitation of discharge, patient flow and care in the community at both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital.
This post is predominantly based at Doncaster Hospital but there is an expectation to work flexibly across all Trust sites as the service requires.

Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Current registration with HCPC
* Evidence of relevant clinical and post graduate courses/CPD
* Leadership Development Programmes
* Portfolio evidence of reflective practice and relevant experience
* Evidence of advanced specialist clinical knowledge
* Knowledge of professional roles within MDT
* Knowledge of all relevant clinical guidelines/ professional standards and clinical governance requirements
* Audit/research courses
* Member of relevant professional body
Experience
* Significant post graduate experience at Band 6 level in a range of specialities including Orthopaedics
* Experience in change management
* Experience in clinical audit/research and effectiveness
