As a Commercial and Central Finance team member, you will play a crucial role in providing our Engineering and Design teams with high-quality financial insights and guidance. Additionally, you will be instrumental in determining how we invest, monitor, and optimise engineering expenditures while helping develop and lead a small, talented finance team. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be working closely with senior stakeholders in Engineering and Design, helping them stay on top of budgets, make informed choices, and drive value across the board. Key responsibilities include: Leading and developing a team of three finance analysts: supporting their growth and guiding them through day-to-day challenges. Full ownership of PD & Engineering accounts, including cost centres, capitalisation, amortisation, allocations, and international hubs. Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for engineering spending, driving accountability and transparency through solid business partnering. Supporting Engineering resource planning and reporting, making sure people and costs are in the right place at the right time. Build strong working relationships with key partners in product finance, central accounting, FP&A, and internal audit, ensuring alignment. Helping solve complex problems that sit at the crossroads of cost, timing, innovation, and technical delivery – using your commercial know-how to find the right balance. What we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who’s technically strong and confident in building relationships and influencing across teams. Someone who enjoys a challenge, wants to make a difference, and can lead others through change. You’ll need: A professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA). Solid experience in finance business partnering – ideally within a technical, engineering or product-led environment. Proven ability to lead, support and develop a team. A mindset for continuous improvement and a natural drive to challenge the status quo. Strong communication skills – able to explain the numbers in a way that makes sense to everyone. A sharp eye for detail, great organisational skills, and confidence juggling multiple priorities. Advanced Excel skills and good overall systems knowledge. If you're curious, proactive, and ready to step into a role where you can really make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
