Work Pattern: 24 hour service. Day and Night shifts

Job Summary:
We are looking for individuals who are looking to progress their career as an ECA on high dependency vehicles with the potential progression towards working frontline 999 shifts in other areas of our business. Your role will include conveyance between interhospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other allocated operational duties commensurate with the role and responsibilities, supporting and, where appropriate, administering the provision of clinical, social and holistic care to patients, safely and within appropriate level of training and competency. To act in accordance with Medi4 policies, procedures and protocols, ECA scope of practice, appropriate sections of the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC) guidelines and current legislation at all times.
Duties, Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
* Hospital transfers, working alongside a clinician, single crewed at Events, as part of a dual ECA crew or other operational duties, as indicated by the Operations & Clinical teams.
* Ensure compliance with the appropriate sections of the JRCALC guidelines, Medi4 policies, procedures, protocols and scope of practice at all times.
* Support the work of qualified practitioners by using appropriate knowledge and skills.
* Ensure informed consent is obtained before treatment or intervention is undertaken.
* Maintain a continuous duty of care to patients.
* Provide a clear handover report when the patient is handed into the care of another health professional.
* Ensure the safe transfer of patients, following health and safety protocols.
* Respond to and communicate with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other health professionals in a professional manner.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Undertake a dynamic risk assessment on arrival at the scene of an incident.
* Practice in accordance with protocol and current legislation governing the use of medicines.
* Maintain timely communications with the Operations & Clinical teams.
* Communicate and work with other emergency services and relevant authorities.
Special Conditions:
The post holder must be prepared to travel to other company sites, to meet the requirements of the company for operational, training and business continuity purposes.
Work Complexity:
The job requires flexibility of mind and personal organisation to determine priorities and handle multiple issues at a time.
Contacts:
The post holder will liaise with staff and managers at all levels of the organisation, and with suppliers, clients, members of the public, patients & clients.
Creative Work:
The post holder may be expected to take part in meetings to ensure that they achieve their key performance indicators.
Confidentiality:
The post holder will regularly come into contact with confidential information about patients, staff and other Medi 4 business. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
