Tutor Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist

Applications are invited for a highly motivated, dynamic and flexible Dental Therapy/ Dental Hygiene Tutor to join the Eastman Dental Hospital Education Centre to start in December 2024 to cover maternity leave. This post is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals, part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will join an established Dental Education Team committed to high quality research-based academic and clinical teaching. Applicants will be expected to have excellent communication skills and experience in pre and post registration teaching and training. Applicants must have experience of teaching and supervising trainees.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
* Registered Dental Therapist
* Current GDC registration and compliance with CPD requirements
* Qualification appropriate to teaching in the Lifelong learning Sector
Experience
* Recent wide-ranging clinical experience as a Dental Therapist or Dental Hygienist
* Experience in education of dental care professionals
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Involvement in post-qualification programmes/courses
* Experience in delivering online education and training
Skills and Abilities
* Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and audit
* IT Skills particularly Excel & Powerpoint
* Able to learn different IT software systems
* Knowledge of educational management
* Knowledge of educational programme design & management
Communication
* Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, and as part of a team
Specific Requirements
* Experience of student assessments
* Experience of acting as an examiner for formative and summative assessments
* Experience of mentoring staff/students

£54,320 to £60,981 a year, per annum inclusive of HCAS, pro-rata
