About Barts Heart Centre
Barts Heart Centre is a leading tertiary cardiac centre, formed from the merged cardiac units at The London Chest Hospital, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, and The Heart Hospital. It serves as the heart attack center for the region and provides a comprehensive range of cardiac services, including electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, specialist cardiac imaging, grown-up congenital heart disease (GUCH) services, and advanced heart failure care.
Our arrhythmia service is world-renowned, performing the highest volume of EP and device cases in the UK. We have international leadership in complex ablation, device therapy, inherited arrhythmias, and GUCH EP. The department is also academically leading, publishing in all major areas of EP and cardiac devices.
Responsibilities
1. Performing supervised procedures in the catheter lab
2. Participating in device clinics and outpatient clinics
3. Providing day-to-day inpatient care as part of the cardiac electrophysiology
4. Developing a sub-specialist interest within EP and cardiac devices, with the opportunity to gain expertise in areas such as complex ablation (AF/VT/AT), device extractions, inherited arrhythmias, or ACHD
5. Participating in a non-resident, partial shift on-call rota for EP and device services at Barts Heart Centre, compliant with the European Working Time Directive

This role is suitable for senior cardiology trainees or post-CCT fellows who already have some experience in EP and devices and wish to gain advanced subspecialty training.
