Position Overview:
As a Qualified Teacher, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring classroom continuity during teacher absences. Their responsibilities include supervising and supporting students across various subjects, creating a productive and safe learning environment. Responsibilities:
Support for the pupils:
Supervise classes engaged in assignments from teachers across various subjects, including Primary, PE, and Technology.
Provide guidance and support to individual students or small groups, particularly those withdrawn from classes for targeted learning opportunities.
Manage student behaviour to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
Ensure students remain focused and on track to meet lesson objectives.
Assist students facing difficulties with their cover lesson tasks.
Offer pastoral support to individual students under the guidance of a Head of Year or SENCO.
Support for the Teacher:
Supervise classes engaged in teacher-assigned tasks, responding to student queries, and organizing completed work at the conclusion of lessons.
Assist teachers in assessing and documenting student work.
Oversee students during school trips.
Assist subject leaders in coordinating work for absent teaching staff.
Support for the School:
Oversee exam invigilation.
Aid the Cover Manager in arranging daily cover schedules for timetabled lessons.
Provide practical support in developing resources, including curriculum displays, for various school departments.
Collaborate with fellow team members to assist children when necessary.
Contribute to student progress reviews as required.
Uphold the overall ethos and objectives of the school.
Adhere to policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety, security, and confidentiality, promptly reporting any concerns.
Promote inclusivity and ensure equal access to learning and developmental opportunities for all students.
Attend and actively participate in relevant meetings as needed.
Engage in training, educational activities, and performance management as instructed.
Fulfil tasks as directed by the Principal.
