Assistant Cost Manager\n\nA national leading consultancy in Milton Keynes have an opening for an Assistant Cost Manager to join their team.\n\nWorking on a range of industry leading schemes, they operate within a range of sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, retail and residential. The majority of their workload is refurbishment, and they are most prominent in the retail sector\n\nLots of benefits:\n\n * £Neg\n\n * 27 days holiday plus bank holidays.\n\n * 6% pension\n\n * All expenses covered for work purposes\n\n * Hybrid working – (once established in the business)\n\n * 8.30 to 5 – again flexible – you can start earlier/ finish earlier if you prefer\n\n * Private health insurance and can add your family\n\n * Open plan office\n\n * Informal working environment\n\n * Trust people – manage your own workload\n\n * Casual dress\n\n * Regular social events\n\n * Plenty of room to progress\n\n * RICS support\n\nThe role - Assistant Cost Manager\n\nYou will be joining a team of 19 and will enjoy working in a collaborative working environment in a modern, open plan office.\n\nYou will be working on one of their most prestigious retail framework accounts, undertaking a full range of construction projects, largely fit out and refurbishment, ranging from £50,000 - multi-million pound works.\n\nYou will be working on fast paced / fast turnaround projects\n\nOffice based in the main, out seeing clients roughly once a week.\n\nJob Objectives: You will assist with:\n\n * Establishing friendly, professional relationships with clients and be an extension of their team\n\n * Subcontractor tendering and reviewing costs.\n\n * Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.\n\n * Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.\n\n * Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.\n\n * Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.\n\nThe right person. Assistant Cost Manager\n\nYou will have some form of construction experience, and 1 years plus experience working as an Assistant Cost Planner, or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
