Contract – Temporary for 12 months
Job Description:
Provide comprehensive administrative support within the Firearms Licensing Department, ensuring compliance with legislation, Home Office guidance, and force policy to maintain public safety.
Responsibilities include:
1. Processing, analyzing, and assessing applications for firearm, shotgun, and explosive certificates, including renewals and variations.
2. Interrogating police and intelligence databases to research applications and gather relevant information.
3. Conducting initial risk assessments and forwarding applications for further investigation.
4. Reviewing information to determine if applications can be approved or require further action.
5. Performing clerical tasks related to certificates and applications.
Essential Qualifications:
* Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes in English and Maths) or equivalent work experience.
* Extensive administration experience in a customer-focused environment.
* Level 1 in Emotional Awareness, Ownership, Collaboration, Delivery & Support, and Critical Analysis.
Additional Information:
Applicants must have prior approval for secondment from their current manager, with necessary documentation submitted during application.
