Hospital in Salisbury is seeking an exceptional A&E Nurse to join their dynamic team for night shifts. As an integral part of the Accident and Emergency department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients during their most vulnerable moments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with various emergency conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other acute illnesses.
* Conduct triage assessments to determine the urgency and severity of patients’ conditions, prioritising care accordingly.
* Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, surgeons, technicians, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
* Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, pain levels, and mental status, documenting observations accurately and promptly.
* Respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively, utilising advanced life support techniques and equipment when necessary.
* Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and available resources for follow-up care.
* Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
* Participate in ongoing professional development activities, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in emergency nursing.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse (RN) license with the appropriate nursing board.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
* Possess advanced knowledge and skills in emergency nursing, including triage, critical care, and trauma management.
* Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
* Commitment to maintaining patient safety and providing exceptional, evidence-based care.
* Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the assigned schedule.
* PVG certificate would be an advantage.
