About the role
Our Assistant Managers play an important role within Mind Retail, working alongside the Shop Manager to lead and motivate the shop team to maximise profits, deliver the highest level of shop standards and provide excellent service to our customers.
Our charity shops are crucial in raising funds from the sale of pre-loved, donated stock to fund Mind's vital mental health support services. But they are more than just shops, they play a vital role in local communities across England & Wales, offering a warm and welcoming place for people to shop, volunteer or access our mental health information.
As Assistant Manager, you'll achieve a real sense of pride by helping to build this community, leading the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, motivating your team to do their best work and creating a supportive, caring and inclusive environment- By finding value in every person as an individual and finding strength in our differences.
You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your development, whatever this looks like for you. We actively look for opportunities to learn and grow so we can do better for the people who need us. With development programmes, additional qualifications and a huge selection of workshops there's something for everyone! We have a real commitment at Mind Retail to developing your talents, so you can contribute in your own unique way and help us in the fight for mental health. Our Assistant Manager roles are also flexible, so they're perfect for helping you to create a good work-life balance, with part-time hours to fit around your commitments.
We're looking for someone who:
* is passionate about retail
* has the enthusiasm to inspire and motivate others
* can prioritise workloads
* respond effectively to challenge
* has a strong customer focus
* can demonstrate our values and behaviours
If you haven't got management or supervisor level experience, don't worry! We'd love to hear from you if you have a ‘can do' approach, are prepared to work hard and are eager to learn.
Ready to reach your potential?
Join us. Join the fight for mental health.
