Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Ormskirk, Lancashire. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in their educational development. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Job Duties:
* Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH needs
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans
* Support the class teacher in managing student behaviour
* Help students develop social and emotional skills
* Contribute to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Demonstrated understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
* Experience in implementing behaviour management strategies
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* Additional training in supporting students with SEMH needs
