We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our team.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be working within the Investment team reporting to a Managing Partner, Investments in the team.
This role is part of the Direct Equities team within the Investment division. Wellcome’s Investment portfolio of £37.6 billion is diversified across asset classes and geographies with an objective of generating returns to fund the charitable mission and at least preserve the endowment in real terms long-term.
What will I be doing?
The Investment Analyst will cover existing holdings in directly held public equities and conduct research on potential new investments. This includes fundamental research and analytical work, as well as building and maintaining relationships with company management teams, boards and other industry participants.
As an Investment Analyst, you will:
* Provide qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to the portfolio management team, which is responsible for investing directly and indirectly across all investment asset classes, with a specific focus on directly held listed equities.
* Assist in the monitoring and review of existing public equity holdings, and evaluation of new opportunities.
* Research investment ideas to contribute to the wider portfolio.
* Actively network and promote Wellcome in the investment industry. Liaise with third parties, including company management teams and boards, sell side analysts and other buy side investors.
* Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

We are looking for people with a strong interest in long term investing. The successful candidate will have high levels of integrity and strong relationship management skills. You will have the opportunity to build your career as a globally-oriented, long term investor, with experience across a range of asset classes, but focusing in particular on listed equities.
We are looking for someone with:
* Demonstrable experience of researching and analysing public equities, either on the buy side or sell side.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including complex financial modelling.
* Experience of delivering key projects/pieces of work to a high standard within tight deadlines.
* Ability to build strong relationships with counterparties and colleagues, while resolving any conflicts in a confident and constructive manner.
* Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel.
* Knowledge of Wellcome’s mission of key strategic priorities and how role relates to these.
* Ability to work on multiple pieces of work across stakeholder groups.
