This role is focused on elevating Good Housekeeping ’s profile by delivering high-impact, shareable news stories that resonate with audiences and generate engagement across digital platforms. Key Responsibilities: Lead the writing and commissioning of daily news stories, both for immediate publication and upcoming trends, driving traffic and engagement to meet KPIs. Be the engine of fresh ideas at daily editorial conferences, ensuring content remains relevant and newsworthy. Oversee the cultural calendar (maintained by the Junior Staff Writer), ensuring forward-planning for talent involvement in covers, features, and events. Take editorial ownership of the Good Housekeeping website, app news, and the bi-weekly GH Life newsletter, writing, commissioning, and overseeing production and delivery. Collaborate with section heads to identify and deliver fast-turnaround, digital-first news across fashion, beauty, household, health, and other areas, ensuring that every facet of the GH woman’s world is covered across web, app, and newsletters. Adapt digital news articles and features for print to maximize editorial efficiency. Work closely with the Content Strategy Director to track content performance, identifying opportunities and adjusting tactics where needed, while setting a strong example of data-informed editorial decision-making for section heads. Support the Director of GH Homes in optimizing content performance across all digital channels. Conduct celebrity interviews, participate in Good Housekeeping events, and contribute print features as required. Line manage the Editorial Assistant and Junior Staff Writer, with a focus on developing their writing and idea-generation skills. Provide dotted line management for the Social Media Manager, ensuring cohesive social content.
