The Role
We're looking for a Mini Bus Driver to join Co-op Academy Swinton in the running of transport for our staff and students throughout the academic year. This is a casual contract and working hours will be negotiated depending on what is required of the academy.
As well as being responsible for the transportation of our staff and students, you will also be responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle and ensuring that it is in a roadworthy condition. It is essential that you have a current clean driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years with a category of D1.
Successful candidates will be proactive, well organised, passionate and committed to creating the best possible environment for our staff and students. At Co-op Academy Swinton, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional educational experience for students and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment for our staff. You will be working with passionate colleagues who are dedicated to challenging and supporting students in equal measure.
Why us?
Our academy provides a place for pupils aged 11-16. We are easily commutable from all areas of the North West with Swinton train station less than a 5-minute walk away. We have a dedicated team of staff who build and share positive relationships and a caring culture with our wonderful students. This was highlighted in our recent Ofsted inspection (June 2024), where we were graded ‘Good’ in all areas.
Our Values
Being part of the Co-operative Group, we are both guided and driven by the Co-op values which are embedded in everything that we do within our Academy - We strive to demonstrate the following ethical values in everything we do:
1. Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.
2. Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community.
3. Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect.
4. Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.
5. Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.
6. Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.
So, if you believe in our values, we would love to hear from you!
We offer a wide range of benefits and rewards to recognise the part you play in our success:
* You’ll get a Co-op colleague discount card. This gives you a 10% discount in our Co-op Food stores.
* Co-operative flexible benefits including discounted line rental and broadband package, family care advice, and cycle to work scheme.
* Discounted gym membership and leisure activities.
* Co-operative Credit Union: save directly from your salary and receive a competitive dividend.
