Job Title: Deputy Manager – Respite Service
Location: Banstead, Surrey and Woking, Surrey.
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week (working shifts Monday - Sunday - some flexibility required)
Salary: £30,050 to £31,670 per annum

We are currently working in partnership with Surrey County Council to deliver on their vision for quality Short Breaks for people with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, through the development of two state of the art, purpose built overnight services in Woking and Banstead.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Short Breaks team at Surrey Choices. The Deputy Manager's role is to assist the Registered Manager to project manage the temporary relocation of the current Short Breaks (Banstead) service to a new purpose built site in Woking in early 2025, and the subsequent relocation of the service from Woking to Banstead in 2026. Duties will include supporting staff recruitment and onboarding, supporting the existing staff team through the relocation, the assessment and onboarding of people who will use the service (including liaison with families and Surrey County Council referring practitioners) and elements of building and equipment set up.
In addition, the Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manger to oversee the daily running of the current 6-bed and future 8 bed Short Breaks services, ensuring that the service provided offers those we support a high standard of person-centred care. You will ensure that all individuals using the service are treated with dignity and respect and that their independence, choice, and control is actively promoted. The successful candidate will work within the requirements of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks and ensure that all practices within the services actively promote the vision and values of Surrey Choices and our strategic partners. The successful candidate will have an eye for innovation and be able to work in partnership with other service leads across the organisation to meet the needs and aspirations of those we support, and their families.
What we would like from you:
●Previous supervisory/management experience
●Previous experience of working with adults or children with disabilities
●Good knowledge of CQC's Regulatory Framework and obligations under the Care Act
●Excellent communication and organisational skills
●Good project management and change management understanding
●Flexible approach to the management requirements of a 24hr service. Shift working required 7am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday.
●Ability to lead by example and develop the team
●A positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement
