Financial Reporting Controller
Location: Templecombe
Contract Duration: 7-month contract
Rate: £341 per day via umbrella company (inside IR35)
We have a requirement for a qualified management accountant to undertake a reporting role with an aerospace and defence client. The role will be hybrid with the postholder required on site 3 days per week.
Primary Purpose of the Role
1. Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts & provide relevant management information for the business area.
2. Provide accurate, timely and reliable financial information with supporting analysis & commentary as required.
3. Adopt best practice in the use of Oracle.
4. Champion the transformation of the finance function through involvement in group finance initiatives.
5. Assist the preparation of the MYB for the business area.
6. Support Business Improvements Initiatives and lead on improving the ‘Finance Predictability’ agenda with a specific focus on balance sheet reconciliations and data integrity.
Principal Relationships
The jobholder will report to the Financial Reporting Controller for guidance, career development, and for day-to-day operational activities while working closely with the Finance Reporting Controller. A number of this role’s deliverables will be to Senior Management within the business.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
1. Support the preparation, reporting, and review of Monthly Reporting in collaboration with the Finance Reporting Controller and Finance Controller.
2. P&L, Balance Sheet & Group templates: using the financial systems Oracle B1, TM1 and Magnitude.
3. Perform appropriate reviews to ensure integrity of numbers.
4. Magnitude Input.
5. Support and review performance against the Multi Year Budgets (MYB), including the production and analysis of ad-hoc supplementary schedules and KPIs as required.
6. Support the development and maintain effective mechanisms for the review of MYB, annual budgets & estimates, and for the production of realizable financial forecasts.
7. Prepare the Balance Sheet reconciliations, escalating where required.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes
1. Support to the Management and review of the business working capital, with specific focus on Cash – accuracy of Forecasts.
2. Inventory – accuracy of holding, utilization & accounting.
3. Assist in the implementation of IT tools and reporting techniques.
4. Ensure that financial affairs are conducted in accordance with Group Principles (including compliance).
5. Maintain an ethical approach to business in line with the company Ethics Policy.
6. Continually seek to improve finance processes to ensure a robust controlled environment.
7. Ad hoc tasks, reporting, and analysis as required.
Skills and Experience
1. Previous management accounting and reporting experience.
2. Good knowledge of company accounting rules and procedures.
3. Part-Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
4. Experience of working in a changing environment.
5. Accuracy and Diligence.
6. Ability to work to a high standard.
7. Drive and enthusiasm with a can-do attitude.
8. Ability to communicate confidently with both finance and non-finance personnel.
9. Good MS Office skills - advanced Excel.
10. Good telephone manner.
11. Highly IT literate.
12. Flexible and adaptable.
13. Ability to work well within a team.
