Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual with previous experience working in a similar setting. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our residents, helping them navigate their recovery journey and address their addiction issues. This role requires a strong understanding of addiction, homelessness, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support and Care: Provide emotional support, guidance, and care to residents, ensuring their well-being and safety.
2. Addiction Support: Assist residents in accessing addiction services, including counseling and rehabilitation programs.
3. Housing Support: Help residents with housing-related tasks, such as finding permanent accommodation and maintaining tenancies.
4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, including counselors, social workers, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support.
5. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with addiction and homelessness, ensuring a safe environment for all residents.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and progress.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience working in a homeless hostel or similar setting, preferably with individuals experiencing addiction issues.
2. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in social care, addiction support, or a related field are desirable.
3. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
5. Strong understanding of addiction and recovery principles.
6. Experience with crisis management and conflict resolution.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
