Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated, experienced Paediatric Haemodialysis nurse to lead our Paediatric Haemodialysis Unit here at UHS. This individual needs excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit along with highly specialist haemodialysis knowledge and skills.
The Paediatric Haemodialysis Specialist practitioner will have primary responsibility for the provision of Haemodialysis for paediatric patients at UHS, practicing autonomously as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team. They will be responsible for leading the nursing team to provide the safe therapeutic management of paediatric Haemodialysis patients.
The post holder will be the identified key worker for the paediatric haemodialysis patient caseload to co-ordinate/oversee therapeutic treatment and care. We look forward to working with a dynamic, passionate individual who can bring expertise and leadership skills to the role and develop the service.
The Paediatric Haemodialysis Unit is based on G4 SUN ward and cares for children undergoing Chronic Haemodialysis from across the Wessex region including the Channel Islands. It is currently open 3 days per week from 8am-8pm however we are hoping to expand this to a 6 days/week service.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
* Registered nurse, Registered AHP on relevant part of NMC or HCPC register
* Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits) or Master's degree or equivalence within relevant speciality
* Specialist training / Qualification in area of practice
* Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice.
* Provide evidence of supporting a range of learners in practice
* Supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
* Evidence of experience and completion of all band 6 competencies within relevant speciality
* Specialist clinical skills and experience within specialist area
