Hedingham Medical Centre are pleased to be seeking two dispensary assistants for our growing rural practice in Essex on a part-time basis. The roles will be for the following days and hours: Shift pattern 1: Mondays and Tuesdays 0830-1730 (1 hr break) and Wednesdays 0830-1300. Shift pattern 2: Wednesdays 1400-1730 and Thursdays and Fridays 0830-1730 (1 hr break). Main duties will include: Greeting patients at counter as first point of contact. Handing out dispensed medication with relevant advice as given by a doctor or dispenser. Ensuring declarations of exemption are correctly completed by person collecting and evidence checked. Collecting dispensing charges at counter. Completing monthly spreadsheet for paid prescriptions. Be familiar with pre-payment forms, NHS receipts (FP57), Medical exemption forms, HC1 forms etc and know when to use them. Answering calls and managing requests. Please see attached job description for further details. About the Candidate The ideal candidates will be have the following attributes and skills; Enthusiastic and well-motivated. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Works well under pressure with a 'can-do' attitude. Previous NHS/primary care experience. Be familiar with SystmOne, but full training will be given to the right candidate. Computer literate. Have the flexibility to provide holiday/sickness cover.
