Job Title: UK Sales Engineer
Reports to: Global Sales Manager
Position Summary
The UK Sales Engineer, will be responsible for driving sales, developing new sales opportunities, managing distributors and key accounts throughout the United Kingdom. This position will need to build strong relationships with various customers and key accounts. The successful candidate will need to use their sales, applications and engineering knowledge to generate new company leads, opportunities and sales to new customers as well as existing customers to increase sales revenue while maintaining margin levels. Approximately 50% of the time will be travelling to existing customers and developing new sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and drive the day-to-day sales within the UK to exceed sales targets;
* Generate orders from new customers to increase sales revenue;
* Manage and increase sales with direct key accounts;
* Develop new and maintain key existing relationships with customers and end users;
* Ensure all key accounts have the technical/application/training support;
* Build a solid sales pipeline with accurate forecasting to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets;
* Work with sales, engineering and the production teams when required to address the customer needs;
* Ensure all opportunities are accurately captured and reported within the company’s CRM;
* Provide market intelligence for Sherborne’s competitiveness and new product opportunities;
* Attend industry trade shows and exhibits when required;
* Any other duties that may be required by the company.
Experience and Skills
* The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-7 years proven experience as a sales engineer;
* Previous experience of selling sensors and instrumentation in a related sensor industry is preferred but not essential;
* An Electrical/mechanical engineering background would be highly desirable;
* Record of driving direct sales, applications selling, appointment setting, pipeline development, closing sales and strong forecasting;
* Effective communication, collaborative and reporting skills.
* Experience of using a CRM to prospect, forecast and report;
* Must be able to work well in an independent environment and be accountable for performance including accurate and timely forecasting and sales delivery;
* Candidates must be self-driven, results orientated, disciplined, professional with self-confidence and exhibit perseverance.
Compensation
* Base salary, depending on candidate experience plus commission of up to 15% of base
* Car Allowance £4,800 per annum
