Job Title: Technical Sales Chemist
Salary: £30-40k, Performance Bonus
Location: Leeds (Hybrid, min 3/4 days in office), Travel across UK & EU required
Our client is a start-up speciality chemicals distributor who are currently at the forefront of developing their own innovative products. This position would be suitable for an R&D Chemist who is looking to move into a technical sales role.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the company in its strategy to develop within the European market
Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and providing exceptional customer service
Pro-actively search for new customers in the European market
Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential growth areas, customer demands, and emerging opportunities
Assist with tracking sales performance, analysing key metrics, and preparing regular reports on sales activities and revenue forecasts
Produce company presentations and assist in presenting to potential and current customers
Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
Essential requirements for the role:
You have strong business acumen
You have a Chemistry or (related science) degree (BSc/ MSc from a reputable university) and are technically proficient in this area
You are able to conduct market analysis, marketing and sales planning
You are highly proficient in working with technology (laptops, phones) and Microsoft software (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)Advantageous/desirable:
Direct experience in UV-curing market or have a background in coatings/inks/paints
Masters/ PhD in Chemistry
Proficiency with CRM and ERP software
