The role
Looking for a Buyer to join our Stoke-on-Trent office, focusing on purchasing materials in line with specification and budgets. The role will preferably suit a buyer with experience in a similar role or with general joinery knowledge.
Key responsibilities
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure materials purchased are in line with project requirements
* Send out enquiries to suppliers and manufacturers
* Work closely with design team and delivery team to source best value products in a timely manner
* Help further strengthen our Procurement Supply Chain working closely with our Commercial Team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors
* Be prepared to negotiate supplier accounts and discuss issue with materials supplied whilst recording supplier performance and giving appropriate feedback
* Set up meetings with suppliers on a regular basis with Key accounts and to broaden WJL’s supply chain
What we're looking for
* Bright, enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn.
* A genuine interest in construction with a preference for those with some knowledge of carpentry or joinery.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Confident communicator, both written and verbal
