Lead Document Controller
Our Client are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Lead Document Controller to support their Electrical & Mechanical installation project on Hinkley Point C Nuclear new Build Project.
The Lead Document Controller is responsible managing a small team of specialist resource with responsibility for controlling, filing, sorting and retrieval of electronically stored or hard copy documentation produced by technical teams, construction teams, projects or departments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Supports technical projects and departments.
- Receives, catalogues and stores hard copies and electronic copies of all technical drawings, reports and related information in an orderly manner, in line with policies and procedures.
- Allocates and controls document control system for the project work.
- Works with precision to ensure that all electronic and hard copy filing is accurate and is easily retrievable.
- Responds in a timely manner to requests to retrieve information, information searches and general requests for support from project/department personnel.
- Accurately updates information as required.
The role of Document Controller is critical in the support of technical teams, Construction teams, departments and projects in the timely filing and storing of project related documentation. Documentation may be of a confidential or sensitive nature and need to be stored in line with client, company and industry guidelines.

The Lead Document Controller will work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment, so its important to have demonstrable background in staying focused and carrying out tasks in a timely and accurate manner. You should also be detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy since you may come in contact with complex and sensitive documents.
Skills
As the Lead Document Controller you should have the ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot. Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are also essential because as the document control specialist you will regularly communicate with internal and external business partners / stakeholders. You must be computer-savvy and well-versed in Microsoft Office products. We will also require experience with document control software, process map software, Project Wise, FieldView, SharePoint etc. or demonstrable experience with other collaboration tools
