Home to one of the world's largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth's facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.
We are looking for Machinists to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Machinist with us, you'll use a range of machining tools to accurately manufacture ship components and parts.
So, what will you do?
* Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and vertical and horizontal boring machines to manufacture ship components and parts.
* Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
* Machine parts to precise tolerances and specifications using appropriate tools, techniques and materials.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
And what are we looking for?
* Experience as a Machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment, or eagerness to learn and be trained to our standards of work.
* Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* Good attention to detail and a logical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Commitment to health & safety.
* Starting salary circa £33k per annum rising to £35k per annum from April 2025 + overtime and shift premiums.
