Brief Description
Assist and support the Level Crossing Managers (LCM) with all aspects of level crossing risk management including but not limited to: data gathering and analysis, risk assessment preparation, asset inspection, stakeholder management, safety awareness and compliance.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
1. Assist LCMs with pre and post site visit preparation, including arranging joint site visits with stakeholders, corresponding with authorised users, and documenting responses.
2. Undertake level crossing inspection, faulting and minor maintenance (including cameras, cleaning of signs, minor repairs, and vegetation management around the approaches and access area of level crossings); accurately report all work completed/not completed.
3. Support LCMs with analysing, documenting, and tracking trend changes from census camera footage.
4. Assist LCMs with preparation of narrative risk assessments as required, including analysing census camera data.
5. Work with LCMs to prepare and deliver Safety Awareness events.
6. Assist LCMs in the preparation of and attendance at Road Rail Partnership Group meetings.
7. Work with stakeholders on behalf of LCMs to manage outputs from meetings.
8. Support LCM team by tracking completed Fatality and Weighted Injuries (FWI) reduction activity.
9. Assist LCMs team with compliance, including maintaining incident database and monitoring trends.
10. Assist LCMs team with projects including signal renewals and timetable change.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Proven excellent written and verbal communication
* Demonstrable excellent interpersonal skills
* Proven analytical awareness and attention to detail
* Successful experience in planning and organisation
* Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need
* Computer literate in basic IT packages
* Understanding of level crossings
* Attained a Health & Safety qualification
* Experience of working in a safety critical environment
