We are recruiting for Senior Health Care Assistants to join our team at Laganvale Care Home. This role would be on a rotation of day and night duty - previous experience is essential for this role.
Duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the residents but can include:
* Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living, according to their individual needs.
* Observe the care planning needs of residents and complete daily records as instructed and in line with Company’s policy and procedure.
* Follow the competency-based training and under the supervision of the Unit/Home manager, ensure the residents medication is: stored correctly, administered in line with company policy and professional guidelines, and manage and coordinate the supply of medication communicating with Pharmacy to ensure there is always a supply of medication as required.
* Ensure audits are completed and report and record any discrepancies in line with the facility medicine policy.
* Ensure that staff are making the best use of the aids available in assisting residents who have limited mobility or physical difficulties.
* Monitor and report on the condition of palliative care/end of life residents.
* Promote the rights, dignity, privacy, respect, and choice to every resident when providing care.
* Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence in all aspects of daily living.
Essential Criteria
* GCSE Maths and English.
* Basic IT skills.
* Minimum of NVQ Level 2 with willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3.
* Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
* 6+ months experience in working in care.
* Will be required to be signed off as competent at the induction training.
* Available to work a flexible shift pattern including 1:1 support, evenings, and weekends.
* All Ann’s Care Home Health Care Assistant staff will be required to complete and obtain a minimum 60% in Level 2 of The Deprivation of Liberty module.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
