Senior Health and Safety Manager required to join an aeronautical engineering specialist. The company focus on the maintenance, servicing, repair, overhaul, retirement and further services of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers and operational fleet across a large Tier 1 COMAH site.
This is a senior position, working with department heads to lead, modernise, drive, integrate and progress standards, systems and policy across a diverse, multi-faceted high-profile engineering facility.
Duties include:
•Implement and maintain standards ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, using integrated Management Systems.
•Carry out internal audits of the Health and Safety management system, identifying opportunities for improvement.
•Ensure compliance with the COMAH regulations, with responsibility to compile and submit the report.
•Ensure compliance with further regulations and engage with the required agencies.
•Being the point of contact with agencies and stakeholders during inspections and audits.
•Provide guidance, support and training.
•Investigate Health and Safety incidents and accidents and ensure any necessary action is taken.
•Develop KPIs related to Health and Safety performance, to match the requirements of the business
•Attend meetings, conferences and industry events.
•Have a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
•Ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Qualifications
•Hold or be working towards CMIOSH status.
•Ideally educated to a degree level in a relevant subject.
•NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent preferred.
•Recognised Auditing qualification in 45001 preferred.
Experience
•Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 management systems. Experience with other systems would be advantageous ie 14001, 9001
•Demonstrable knowledge of COMAH regulations and working environments.
•Additional, knowledge and/or qualifications in associated Environmental and quality disciplines would be beneficial.

The role will pay £70k-£80k plus pension, healthcare and life insurance and other benefits.
