One of Exeter's high-profile law firms is looking to hire a Real Estate / Property Lawyer to join their small but growing team. Based here in Exeter, but with flexible hybrid-working, the team is looking for someone with circa 0-5 years' experience at qualified level within commercial property law, although they would potentially consider people who have worked within a mixed residential and commercial property role previously. Working with a supportive and passionate boss, who will help develop the successful candidate, this will be a great opportunity to learn and gain new skills, working closely with a large retail client, which is relatively new to the firm. In an ideal world, if someone has experience of working within regeneration or development commercial property, that would be great, but the team is very open to helping to develop these skills in someone who doesn't have that experience already.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence in a broad range of commercial property matters
* Developing responsibility for running with your own caseload
* Assisting the more senior members of the team with more complex transactions
* Providing marketing support e.g. writing copy and reports, updating literature, seeking out networking opportunities etc.
* Achieving budgeted hours and fees for the year as a minimum
* Willing to spend time with clients on short-term secondments if required
* Supporting the team in delivering the core principles of investors in clients to deliver exceptional client service
* Undertaking legal research both as requested and on own initiative
* Undertaking any other duties as required, commensurate with the level of the post
Experience sought:
* 0-5 PQE within commercial property (or a mix of resi and commercial)
* Excellent legal drafting skills: able to provide clear, concise and commercially relevant solutions, explaining/advising succinctly on difficult and complex areas whilst winning client confidence and being aware of potential conflicts
* Keen to maintain personal development and take advantage of training opportunities, keeping up to date with legal issues, law reports and journals together with legal developments and government policy within relevant sectors
* Good IT and keyboard skills, at ease with digital dictation, electronic time recording and case management systems
