Job Opportunity
Randstad is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join their team on a short-term contract basis. The successful candidate will be based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, with the possibility of hybrid working arrangements depending on project requirements.
This role has been classified as outside IR35 and will be paid as a Limited Company.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Solidworks training documentation to enhance modeling and drawing standards.
* Implement and suggest improvements to Solidworks and PDM training.
* Create and manage workflow procedures to optimize design and development processes.
* Support the Solidworks PDM system to streamline data management and improve efficiency.
* Introduce new Solidworks systems and software to enhance design and product support capabilities.
* Act as the primary point of contact with the Solidworks support team and internal IT.
* Research and propose improvements to 3D systems within the organization.
* Maintain awareness of new software packages and technologies.
* Ensure the integrity and control of the PDM database, including 3D CAD data.
* Promote best practices in modeling and drafting within the design and product support teams.
* Support the development and management of migration plans for SolidWorks within internal IT systems.
Requirements
* Proven experience with Solidworks, with a focus on PDM administration.
* At least 5 years of experience in CAD administration, with a background in both development and manufacturing environments.
* Familiarity with NX CAD system and Teamcentre is desirable.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
