Trial Balance Consulting have been reengaged by a long standing client, a very well established services business employing a large number of staff throughout Cornwall. They have asked us to assist them in sourcing a Payroll Manager; a permanent, part time role which benefits from highly flexible working patterns. The role is anticipated to operate over a 30 hours week and this employer is happy to agree to set the working structure to suit the successful candidate. Furthermore, the organisation also offers a combination of site based and remote working if required.
The role works within a large, friendly, and highly experienced team and the successful candidate will be well supported by their colleagues. Key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of a large monthly payroll
2. Preparation of payroll focused budgets and forecasts
3. Resolving any payroll queries
4. Production and submission of payroll data to HMRC
5. Maintain accurate pension data and liaise with pension provider
6. Ensure effective submission of annual statutory data – P11Ds, Class 1A etc.
7. Maintain an up to date knowledge of changes in payroll legislation
8. Support the wider finance team with a range of accounting projects
For this role we’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager, ideally (though not essentially) AAT qualified and with experience using digital payroll systems (or with an aptitude to quickly learn). The role works within a fast paced, team spirited department and the successful candidate will require excellent organisational and communication skills.
