Omega Red Group is excited to offer a two-year apprenticeship programme, gaining a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing and Rigging Occupations: Lightning Conductor Engineer.
As an apprentice with Omega Red Group, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our qualified Lightning Protection Engineers, with the opportunity to create a long-standing career for the future alongside gaining a professional qualification.
Day-to-day activities:
* Attending clients’ sites, assisting and learning from our Lightning Protection Engineers.
* Installing and repairing Lightning Protection systems.

About the Apprenticeship:
The apprentice scheme takes two years to complete and will consist of class-based learning, in which you will be required to stay away from home to attend block periods at college (facilitated by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)).
You will receive on-the-job training with one of our qualified, experienced Lightning Protection Engineers who will coach and develop your practical skills and knowledge in Lightning Protection. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
After completion of this apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress through the company to more advanced roles or other specialist areas.
What you’ll need:
* GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 or higher) essential
* GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4 or higher) essential
* Driving Licence (Grade Full) essential
* Good communication skills to articulate and follow clear instructions and report back
* Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed accurately and safely
* Organisational skills to support time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
* Problem-solving mentality to adapt to new challenges and environments
* Ability to work as part of a team to achieve goals and complete tasks
* Physically fit and enjoy working outside in different environments and weather conditions
* A head for heights as much of the role will involve working at elevated levels
