We have an exciting opportunity for a Programming Executive to join the Programming team.
The Programming Exec is responsible for the accurate set up, scheduling and administration of content across our on-demand and linear services. They will act as a central point of contact for teams across UKTV for information on shows and their planned release, helping, as well, to ensure smooth content delivery. They will offer support, options and ideas to the Schedule Managers and Programming Leads in order to execute on-demand offerings for VoD platforms using available catch-up and box-set-drop content.

Experience
Previous work experience within an administrative role.
Experienced with using IT systems.
Evidence of the ability to accurately manage a large volume of complex and detailed information in a highly process oriented environment.
Knowledge
A good understanding of linear and non-linear audiences and their viewing habits (i.e. terrestrial channels, Netflix, Prime, BritBox etc.).
Strong IT and admin skills, including experience with Excel and other database packages.
Specific experience in Whats’ON (WON) or other Broadcast Management Systems would be very helpful.
Understanding of on-demand scheduling and often complex rights windows.
A knowledge of UKTV’s channel brands and content.

Key Outputs & Responsibilities Of The Role
Set up of all of programmes for VoD and linear (PLA, Acquisitions, and commissions) into WON accurately and in line with deadlines/requirements. Liaise with the Rights & Contracts Manager where necessary.
Act as the first point of contact for linear and non-linear schedule enquiries from other departments.
Work with the Programming Lead to plan and execute on-demand schedules for VoD platforms, using available content from catch-up, box-set-drops and the archive of classics.
May be responsible for scheduling designated parts of the weeks linear schedule and planning appropriate placeholders and burn out content where necessary.
Ensure that any non-linear rights are attached to content in WON, and that they are fully exploited on the appropriate platform, in line with transmission deadlines and requirements.
Distribute and check accuracy of the programme information in the schedules, version triggers, series run orders and listings at the appropriate deadlines.
Be aware of, and across any news events that will impact on our editorial output and checks for compliance issues in response to such events.
Amend linear and non-linear schedule as required.
Act as the day-to-day contact for platform partners and Connect Assist, offering answers to scheduling/content queries and escalating any issues to internal stakeholders.
Play an active role in the creative and editorial discussion around the linear and non-linear schedule, helping to generate ideas for stunts and events and maximising performance through the most effective use of the channels stock list.
Ensure compliance forms are accurate and WON has applied the correct limitation (especially regarding post watershed content that has moved to pre) and amend linear and non-linear schedule as required.
Work with the Presentation team on delivery of schedules for TX.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of competitors’ schedules and services and a clear understanding of the UKTV network requirements and priorities.
Work with the marketing team to provide brand and schedule insight to support the compilation of promotions and make lists; identify key opportunities and areas for weekly and longer-term strategic promotions.
Working with Continuity and navigation teams to highlight priorities.
Cover for other Programming Execs and deputise for the Schedule Manager when necessary.
Support the Programming Lead and assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
Perform other programming tasks related to the business and running of VoD or the channel that may be required from time to time, including tasks required for the smooth, efficient, and effective management of the content pipeline and services.
Upkeep the network prioritisation planner and other relevant documents.
Take responsibility for tracking platform quotas, meeting commercial obligations and responding to information requests from stakeholders.
Work closely with VoD Operations and Compliance teams on the delivery of materials.
