The role of the Siemens Healthineers Workshop Manager is to lead a team and to manage engineering support functions to facilitate the Managed Equipment Service (MES) operations such that Siemens Healthcare discharges its contractual obligations in line with the Company's Values.
This will involve the management of the EBME Workshop in line with company policy, ensuring that engineering support is available for all operational hours, fostering a LEAN environment with a focus on continual improvement, communication with internal and external service stakeholders; providing support to colleagues and ensure that all assigned tasks and responsibilities are performed accurately and efficiently. The post holder will work delivering a range of medical engineering services in line with the MES contract. The service is provided in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and aims create and maintain consistently high customer and staff satisfaction.
An element of the position will be to provide support to the management team when required.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Management of the MES Workshop and the activities in accordance with Siemens contractual obligations, defined processes, and personal targets.
2. Act as Line Manager to all engineers in the department including conducting PLP dialogues and managing staff development.
3. Have a good awareness of the local customer contract and the KPIs contained within it in order to manage the team to ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.
4. Collate all pertinent data for the Monthly Management Report and be able to produce it in the absence of the MES Manager.
5. Ensure that the team comply with all relevant Work Instructions, Quality Procedures, Health and Safety Guidelines, Regulatory Requirements, and Codes of Conduct.
6. Actively contribute to our Quality Management System by ensuring adherence to processes (including BCP) across the team. Participate in Quality Audits when they occur.
7. Achievement of Customer Satisfaction targets.
8. Develop and maintain good relationships with the customers/teams and suppliers at all levels and attend/run meetings when required with customers/teams/suppliers.
9. Assisting with the development and training MES Engineers within the team.
10. Development of long-term relationships and constructive engagement with the NHS clinicians, staff and management at appropriate levels pursuant to the Company's objectives and Values.
11. Maintain the Company's standards of Compliance, Quality and Health & Safety as they relate to the MES operations.
12. Actively seek and initiate process improvements to improve efficiency and cost savings.

14. Attend any appropriate training courses, meetings and/or conferences which are relevant to the role / support work being done within the MES contract.
15. Other duties that are appropriate to the role as and when required to meet the operational needs of the Company.
Qualifications/Experience
16. The successful candidate will hold Electronics, Medical or Engineering Degree or HNC (or equivalent qualification or experience).
17. Proven post qualification work experience gained within a Managed Equipment Services (MES) / EBME workshop within a hospital environment minimum 5 years.
18. Sound knowledge of engineering principles and how they are applied in practice.
19. Have a good understanding of working to service level agreements and customer satisfaction targets.
20. Proven mentorship and leadership skills.
21. Experience of troubleshooting and repairing Electro medical equipment.
22. Able to construct and implement process and process change.
23. Good communication skills both written and verbal.
24. Knowledge of Microsoft packages and service management software.
