Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an Older Prisoner Co-ordinator to join our team at HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottinghamshire. This is a unique and meaningful role supporting older individuals in custody – helping them lead healthier, more dignified, and independent lives.
Salary: £26,578
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
About the Role:
In this full-time position, you’ll be responsible for delivering a range of tailored support services and purposeful activities for older prisoners. You’ll work closely with prison staff, healthcare professionals, probation services, and third-sector organisations to ensure older residents receive the care, respect, and opportunities they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver person-centred activities that support wellbeing and promote independence.
2. Offer advice and guidance tailored to individual needs.
3. Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding and risk management procedures are followed.
4. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
5. Contribute to innovative service development and positive change within the prison environment.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience working with older people or within criminal justice, social care, or voluntary sectors.
2. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
3. Confident in writing reports and using IT systems.
4. Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (teaching/training qualifications desirable or willingness to work towards).
5. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
6. Passionate, resilient, and outcome-focused with a team-oriented attitude.
