Duration : 6 months (subject to extension) Experience : 8-12 years Requirement : Immediate start Job Description : We are looking for an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our team on an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is based in Edinburgh, requiring 2-3 days of in-office work per week. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and solution design. The role will primarily focus on enhancing and maintaining complex database systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions. Key Responsibilities : Oracle PL/SQL Development : Write, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support business requirements. Performance Tuning : Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and speed. Solution Design : Work with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. Data Engineering : Collaborate on projects involving Snowflake and other data engineering technologies. Agile Environment : Participate in agile software development processes, providing regular updates and contributing to sprint planning. Collaboration : Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver quality solutions. Banking & Lending Experience : Leverage your expertise in banking and lending systems to support the project’s objectives. Requirements : Experience : 8-12 years in Oracle PL/SQL development, with a focus on performance tuning and optimization. Secondary Skills : Exposure to Snowflake and other data engineering technologies (e.g., ETL processes, data pipelines). Solution Design : Proven ability to design technical solutions based on business requirements. Agile Experience : Hands-on experience working in Agile projects in a software development or web application environment. UK Experience : Must have relevant experience in the UK market. Prior experience working in a banking or lending environment is preferred. Location : Must be able to work 2-3 days per week at the RBS/NW Edinburgh office. Immediate Availability : We are looking for candidates who can start immediately. Desirable : Banking and lending domain experience. Familiarity with modern cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure). Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
