As a Senior Buyer in World Foods, you will own, deliver, and optimise the buying and selling strategy, contributing to sustainable growth of our market share and cash profit. Collaborating across functions, you will leverage your commercial acumen and analytical skills to drive product improvement, develop new offerings, and identify cost savings. With a focus on customer-centricity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product range, influencing stakeholders, and making key decisions to enhance our customers' experience. What you'll do
* Own, deliver and optimise the buying and selling strategy for key areas within a high growth, fast paced category, including our South Asian, Halal, African, Caribbean & Mediterranean ranges.
* Negotiate across a broad and complex supply base, showcasing an adaptable approach that advances positive supplier relationships.
* Manage multi-temperature state categories across Grocery, Chilled & Frozen, negotiating cost savings and trade plans across a diverse assortment.
* Analyse financial, market and customer data with confidence, navigating ambiguity, identifying opportunities and making decisions that deliver positive results.
* Influence key stakeholders across the business to drive engagement and commitment to delivering our First Choice for World Foods strategy, through effective communication and collaboration.
* Deliver ambitious market-leading events propositions for key events; Ramadan and Diwali.
* Work with range analysts to build appropriate product ranges that deliver commercial advantages and meet the needs of our diverse customers.
* Deliver to business targets on sales, profit, value and market share.
Who you are
* Experienced in owning and delivering successful buying & selling strategies.
* A highly organised individual who is comfortable dealing with a broad assortment and supply base.
* High levels of resilience and adaptability.
* Strong commercial acumen with a drive to make things better and deliver ambitious plans for our World Foods Customers.
* An effective communicator who can lead and advance projects with cross functional stakeholders.
* Experienced in delivering successful commercial and customer outcomes from complex negotiations.
* Comfortable analysing a range of different information sources to make decisions that advance plans in line with our wider strategy.
* Comfortable operating in a high profile role, with the ability to synthesise complex information and communicate effectively to stakeholders across the organisation.
