Achieving for Children is looking for a SEND Commissioning Officer to join our team, working in partnership with families, providers, and stakeholders to commission services that support young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their transition to adulthood.
About the Role
As a SEND Commissioning Officer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of strategic commissioning plans, ensuring services meet the needs of children and young people while delivering value for money. Working closely with the SEND Commissioning Operations Manager, you will:
* Support contract management, fee negotiations, and service development.
* Assist in commissioning SEND placements and monitoring provider performance.
* Use data and intelligence to inform decision-making and improve service quality.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners across education, health, and social care.
* Support policy and planning activities to drive continuous improvement.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
1. Experience in commissioning, contract management, and provider negotiations.
2. Knowledge of SEND legislation, funding structures, and placement sourcing.
